Actually, Majid is absolutely right on what he says about Europe and use of double rope even for aid climbing.
Bullshit. Majid is never right about anything and if you showed up to Yosemite with a set of doubles to climb an aid line on the Captain you would be the laughing stock of the park.

Majid never said to use doubles for aid climbing.

He did say it is common in Europe to use doubles for climbing. This is true. Euros also use doubles when they climb over here.

Laughing stock of the park? Where do you get this crap?

Not sure if this was mentioned here but the august fatality on el cap was similar to this report on june . As I mentioned before, I did get a chance to talk 1on1 to one of the reps from a US rope mfg this past weekend and I mentioned that may be its worth to looking to adding extra protection to beginning and end of the climbing rope so it could handle and resist rope cut during rock fall.

if I get some time, I may do some testing on this subject in 2014.

Yes, it's redundant, and yes, I feel like the Dutch boy with his finger in the dyke, but here goes again:

The guidelines for the A&I forum are posted in the forums list (http://www.rockclimbing.com/...bin/forum/gforum.cgi): "Please keep posts factual and of high quality."

I'd suggest that those who post new A&I reports (or links to them), include this reminder, since some posters don't seem to be aware of the guidelines.

If posters don't wish to comply with the guidelines of this forum, they can either refrain from posting, or post elsewhere.
