no aspersions taken, rob, it's everyone's dbase, i hope you decide to update it. I don't know college rock so it would be nice if y'all who do know it would stay on top of the scene.
wish i could make it out in the am ... i have to put in some qt with the woman.

Just got back from CR. right now it's foggy and damp everywhere, roads houses trees etc., but the rock face itself is dry( mostly). The vertcal and underhung surfaces are dry, but the horizontal surfaces are damp (meaning all the rock at the top where we'd be walking around setting up anchors is damp), the face looked climbable though - I gripped a few holds to test and was able to hang on ok. the ground at the bottom is wet/damp dirt, so shoes would need some protection from getting dirty at the start of the climb. tarps!
The verdict is, it's climbable, but it will be better to go later rather than sooner to let things dry out.
I want to wait until the fog clears at least (I could hear drops falling off the trees as I was surveying the cliff). Weather.com reports that today will be mostly cloudy asnd windy, no rain, so if we wait a bit, I expect conditions will dry out . I wasn't planning on getting there until around 10 anyway to start setting up anchors...

dudes, CR ruled today!!! really isn't much on that cliff you'd call easy...I wish I knew the route names of what I climbed, I'll have to go back and look at the route map there...

mud being in that one damb hold really sucked but other then that it was a great day there were 8 top ropes estup at one point and 15 or so people there hope to do it again next saturday

HEY, i just joined this a few weeks ago and finally found the Mass folks, RObb i live in Hopkinton throw me a PM to my AIM next time you think college rock is gunna dry out... ITS SPRING NO MORE SNOW!
i did do a bit of traverse before work last friday trying to break in some new shoes.. ouch :x it was really nice though

April 12 is a Rose Ledge trip as far as the last i heard. Look back at the first message on this thread. It's a haul form Hopkington but there's a good crew going.
