Tim,

Thanks for the thoughts. The surgery went OK per the doc -- I'll have to take his word, as I was taking a pretty good nap at the time. I feel pretty good now that the percocets are out of my system. The hardest part will be chilling over the next 4 weeks until I get the green light to resume normal excercise. At least mentally, I'm ready to climb NOW.

I may not be skiing as much as normal this winter. If this uber-warm fall continues into December, maybe I can introduce you to HWSNBN this year.

Is that the acronym for your area? I saw some nice pictures of it not too long ago.

Tim -- HWSNBN stands for "He Who Shall Not Be Named", the result of my seeing Harry Potter movies a time or three. If you saw the photos, you likely saw "Lord Voldemort's" nickname in the route descriptions.

Most likely I can't take credit for the photos you saw, as the few I've circulated were shot by visiting climbers. Virtually all of my shots are still on the drawing boards -- I'm not having much success in finding time to make topos for the walls.

Of course if the economy keeps going south, I just may have plenty of time on my hands.

FYI, y'all:

I'm back.

Who's free on Sunday? I can see the entrance to Eldorado Canyon and the Flatirons from my front porch.

Let's climb.

Hey, it's short notice, I know, but I'm looking to take advantage of this nice weather while it lasts, and I have much of this afternoon free.

Anyone interested in running up a couple sport routes at Clear Creek, starting around 3:00 today?

GO

Short notice, but I'm cooking 12 quarts of chili this afternoon, and if any Front Range folks want to stop by for a bowl of chili and a couple beers, consider this your official invitation.

PM me for directions. Chili should be ready around 4:30 or so.

BYOB.

Just moved to Boulder in August and jumped right into the first house I could find, and its not really working out. Any climbers out there looking for a new roommate? I'm clean, active, climb as much as possible, 22 years old, male, laid back, etc. 517-449-4492 or jmsaikman@gmail.com.

Looking to find some rock to climb on Thanksgiving day. Prefer something close to Denver.... Boulder Canyon, Eldo, Flatirons, etc.

Holler.

Hey folks. This is my annual "all my partners are moving away and/or turning into sissies" post.

I'm looking for more partners in the Colorado Springs area. I tend to climb outside on weekends at Shelf Road and Red Rock Canyon the most, although I'm up for occasional road trips anywhere.

I'm also sometimes in the gym here in the Springs during the week, but that's pretty sporadic.

I lead 5.10 sport routes, can follow up easier 5.11, and can belay 5.15. I'm happy to follow someone up trad routes as well but I have limited experience there. Bouldering is fun too but I more or less suck.

Safety is job #1.

Anyone want to get out and climb tomorrow, Jan 2? Weather Underground.com has a high temp of 61, and clear skies.

So, who's free?

Hey all,
I just moved to Boulder in September to work with Sender Films. I moved into the first house I could find, and it is not working out. I'm trying to find a cool new place to live with climbers/skiers/etc., where I can be friends with my roommates that I can get out and do stuff with. Is there anybody in Boulder that has a room available for a cool new climber dude looking to meet new people, get out, and have a good time.

Colorado Springs climber here. We have a good small group of climbers, but there are many times noone can make it, I could use some more partners. I climb mainly at Redrock Canyon during the week, but I know GOG and Cheyenne Canyon pretty well. The Shelf road trips on the weekends are fun and I am looking ot check out Penitente too.

I will be on spring break visiting some family in the Boulder area between March 15-20. I am looking for a climbing partner that could do some sport routes with me. Someone that knows the area because this will be my first time yet I have heard so much about the area. I can sport a 5.10 and am a smart, safe climber. Top rope and bouldering would be fine too. Just iching for some climbing to do while I'm in CO. I can also follow anyone's trad route too. Call me at 717-451-3674. Name is Kevin.

Hi all,

I am new to the rock climbing world and would like to meet people who are willing to take on a newbie in the sport. I'm a 27 year old athletic individual who's lived in Denver for 4 1/2 years and enjoys tele skiing, backpacking/hiking, and general outdoor activity.

If you have any interest at all in taking on a guy who is willing to do what it takes to learn the sport I am ready to start any time. I live in the greater downtown Denver area and am wiling to travel to climb. Also, in an attempt to learn on my own can anyone point me to any great places where I can start by bouldering?

Looking forward to hearing from you!
