I like to climb all over the place, but my "home" for climbing is Eldorado Canyon. www.geocities.com/climb_eldorado What is your favorite climbing area? Why?

I'm assuming that you mean favorite climbing area excluding the valley. Probably Tennessee Wall. Want fingercrack? Walk the trail. Want your fingercrack steeper walk a little farther. Offwidth? Keep walkin'. Hand crack? Well do you want it in a thirty foot roof or in a slab? How about a steep run out slab without a crack in sight? Yeah they've got those too. Want a route with all included? Take your pick. It's never crowded and and the view is great.

Hmmmm tough question but I would have to say my favorite area is Seneca Rocks with a close second third being the T-wall and the Deleware water gap.......All great areas with their unique character...

the Sierra Crest, Needles (CA), and Tuolumne. can't decide which, though North Carolina (the areas near Asheville) and New Hampshire (Cannon, Cathedral) are great too. I will hopefully visit a friend in New Zealand in November and may have something to say about the Southern Alps afterwards. One day I hope to make it to Patagonia, too; I hear it's like the Needles only 10x as big and 1000x more cataclysmic weather. That sounds 'rad' to my sensibilities. ---t

Anywhere.... Where the climbing is enough to justify the drive. Where my buds are hanging out and having fun. Where there is still potential for new routes. Where I just eek by the last hard move of my project and clip the anchors. Where there is a killer Mexican Food joint where I can stop by on the way home and drink a few beers and shoot the shit. Where after I get done with my last climb there is a huge grin on my face. Pleaces that fit that bill: Yosemite, CA Auburn Limestone, CA Natural Bridge, CA NJC, CA Boxsprings, CA Tahquitz, CA Joshua Tree, CA Big Chief, CA Vacaville Boulders, CA Lost Rocks, CA Mt Clark, CA Smith Rocks, OR Deep Creek, WA American Fork, UT St George, UT VRG, AZ Jack Canyon, AZ Queen Creek, AZ Mt Lemmon, AZ Red Rocks, NV Mt Potasi, NV Mt Charleston, NV Rifle, CO Sinks Canyon, WY Jackson Falls, Il Too name a few [ This Message was edited by: roughster on 2002-07-31 03:35 ]

For me it's a toss up between the Linville Gorge in North Carolina and the Llanberis Pass in North Wales.

Anywhere there is a challange on clean rock (I hate loose rock). Most of my climbing has been in NE, so I would have to say Smugglers Notch and Rumney. Haven't been anywhere else yet, excpet for Pickeldish Hollow, which is a small area compared to the others.

Shelf Road because I like sport climbing on Limestone. It is a beautiful secluded area with more climbs than you can shake a stick at.
