So my wife is wanting to get into ice climbing with me. She stands five four with a shoe size of 8 or 39.5... whichever you prefer. Seeing if any of you have boots you would like to recommend. Her foot isn't narrow and isn't wide... just the norm... except she doesn't really have an arch. Any recommendations??

rent koflachs at the nearest REI and check first if she will really enjoy all that pricky stuff falling on her face and her freezing fingers...might save you some $$$

I've found that Koflach's are rather sloppy but warm. The La Sportiva last is IMHO a better fit for the average womyn's foot. It additionally climbs better. I've climbed WI and AI in both and the La Sportiva's provided the trimmer fit.
