Gyms are usually closer/easier to get in and out of. Outdoor take a comittment of getting all your crap together, driving there, hiking in, and the climbs tend to take longer. The gym you can be in do a few routes and be out in an hour.

Yeah, I have this problem too, but I have a good excuse. The nearest crag worth going to is three hours away. Lets just say that living in the midwest bites. For climbing in a gym is a neccessity. Bah!

I do spend about half of my time at the gyms (1-2 days), and half outdoors (1-2 days). But with winter coming I find myself innie more often. But hey, at least you guys can drive. Imagine climbing 3-4 days a week w/o a license

It gets awefully cold outside in the winter(at least in Minnesota). Gym climbing is pretty much the only alternative for those 8 months of the year( just kidding)

The nerest gym for me is about 1h in the car and the nerest crag is about 3min by car, I like outdoor climbing but in the UK it rains to mutch the faces are slippy as hell so when I take my friends (Most inexperienced), I usualy go Indoor.

But there are a couple of gyms i can get to in like 30mins maby 45 if I go to one far away. DaggerX
