Hi all! This is Francesco, from Italy! I'm going to spend a couple of months around california and nevada, surfing and climbing. As you might know here in Europe almost all routes are bolted and we, me and my girlfriend, are totally unprepared for climbing unbolted routes. So my question is the following: Do you know if there are bolted lines around Las Vegas or generally in Nevada? if yes, where? Another question; is possible to rent rope and carabiners, or is better if we bring ours with? Thanks for your disposability! Cisko

Red Rocks and Mt Charleston both have a good amount of well bolted single pitch climbing close to Vegas. There is also a decent amount of sport climbing in southern California. Bring your own rope and quickdraws. What months will you be visiting?

Due to liability concerns, no one* in the states rents rock climbing gear other than shoes and possibly helmets. *: It's possible that there might be one or two, but doubtful. I've never heard of any shop renting technical rock gear.
