I'm trying to do some research on all the crags in PA and discover what is the current hardest established route. I've heard it cold be Romania 5.14, put up by John Ene in Birdsboro. Anyone know others?

Cheers

Gaz

There are some projects that are most likely harder than that, but until someone sends them, we won't know. You also have to take into consideration that grading is not consistent between areas here in PA, or anywhere in the world. A 5.8 at one area can feel like a 5.10 at another. I bet there are a few 5.13's in the coal region that are harder than Romania, so grade alone might not be the best indicator. In order to know what the hardest route in PA is, you would have to climb them yourself, in order to make a fair comparison.
