Has anyone made any knee pads (the sort that protect the knee/thigh when knee-barring)? I'm thinking of the type that were described in the climbing tech tip a few months ago: http://www.climbing.com/Pages/Techtip_pages/212/techtip212_sport.html If so, any tips? Where did you get the sticky rubber? Shoe resole kit? Or if anyone knows someone that's making and selling these things, that would work as well. Thanks, Brent

Wrestling knee pads are great for wrestling (of course) and climbing. If you go this way get Brute Dome Tech....I have a pair of those right now and they are awesome, they are real padded and let your leg move freely. They take a hell of a beating too. More so then other knee pads Ive worn for stuff including wrestling.

If you're not too hairy you could just use althletic tape (like tape gloves) but if you're hairy I would not recommend unless you were really committed and your life depended on it.

if you are hairy you still can tape just use a thing called pretape. put under the tape to protect skin from iritation. Its nice stuff. most medical companies that make tape make pretape....cant think of the big one that we get stuff from though

I use plain neoprene knee pads without any shoe rubber glued on to them. I find that the shoe rubber just makes them heavier and stiffer without any noticable improvement in stickiness.
