F3. I love it. D100s at school, but I haven't used them.

i have a couple of f90's and used f3's for a few decades...nikons are the best 35mm slr's for the money with top-notch lenses and accessories. f100 is a beautiful camera that i'm upgrading to in the next little while

I have a Nikon N90s. I have been a bit timid about dragging the camera up cliffs, but the last few times I took the "risk" have been exceptional. I will take it with me more often.

I also have an f2.8 80-200 lens. Muchos $$$ and weighs a ton. I can't decide if I should bring it with me up the cliffs.
I would also love to have a wide angle lens.

Is the Nikon matrix metering really as good as they say? Does it ever get fooled by snow and ice? Do you ever have to comp. the exposure?
IŽve got a canon but IŽam thinking about buying a Nikon because of the matrix metering system. Any advise?

I have an N90s and use F5's, a D1 and a D1x at work. I love Nikon and Nikon glass. I drag my poor N90s up all sorts of climbs and down alot of caves, it looks pretty ugly now but it still works great.
In answer to adeptus' question, the Matrix metering works great, but there is no metering system that can't be fooled. I wouldn't switch from Canon to Nikon only for the matrix metering if I had much invested in Canon gear. I think Nikon is a bit more reliable and tougher than Canon, but Canon gear is definately quality gear and compares very good with Nikon. Hope this helps.

use an F3. love it. indestructable. drag it to the crag but only bring up multipitch routes sometimes. use mostly a 2.8, 28-70mm zoom.

an oppurtunist mostly when shooting, always have it around and just take shots that make themselves available. once or twice i have set up to take shots of climbers but need to work on the technique for that sorta thing. and learn some tricks!

I've been very happy with my D100. My F90 doesn't see as much action these days.

N70 and N90s here. Really, really, really ridiculously happy with both. N90 sees way more action though. Have shot hundreds if not thousands of rolls....

mmmmmmmm.......NIKON. :D :D

Very happy with my Coolpix 4500...the matrix'ing is REAL sweet, for certain. I often shoot without it just for effect, but when needed it works wonders. Snow and ice have not been a problem. I've got no snow pics on my site, but there's some climbing ones that were matrixed. I think in the description info (the built in info on the file itself) you can check, but...anyways.

Well, if you're a point 'n shoot type (like me, which means lazy and/or clueless), the LiteTouch Zoom 130ED is a nice toy. The 38-130mm zoom lens makes me happy :) It's also small enough to slip into a little camera case and clip onto your harness to drag around without being obtrusive.

sad thing is, you probably shelled out 4 or 5x for what you'll pay for your next camera (at least in absolute value/worth)

I have an older N-6006 with a 28-80mm, 70-300mm Sigma lens, and a Sunpack Power Zoom 4000AF flash. I couldn't be happier with the pics it makes and how durable it is.

Nikon 8008s predecessor to N90, love the camera. Best optics around, next to Leica and Zeiss. Pricey but very much worth it. Strongly recommend using slide film for enlargements bigger then 5x7. Also spend the extra cash and get a Nikon speedlight flash. It costs considerably more, but works infinitely better then aftermarket. I have tried sunpak, and vivitar and feel the Nikon is superior.
