What do you use to reduce snowballing? Duct tape, store bought product.

Tried to use the duct tape with spray on oil on the bottom. Failure and a mess. Yech. So I bought some antistolleplate for my Steigeisen.

there's an easy, homemade fix available.

1. buy yourself a jug of orange juice. get the kind (i think it's "minutemaid") that comes in the orange container; the milk-type jugs are too thin-walled.

2. drink the contents.

3. wash out the jug and cut out two plates in the shape of your crampons.

4. pee.

5. use a single-hole puncher to put holes around the entire circumference of each plate. space them 1.5 to 2 inches apart.

6. using "zip-ties", fasten the plates to the bottom of yer crampons by going through the holes, and around your crampons' rails. clip the excess.

7. pee some more.

8. voila!

Hey mate.
I use a piece of crazy carpet cut to fit, heat up some wire to melt holes in it for mounting and voila! Ive used uv proof wire zip ties to secure to the crampon (these last fairly well but you may have to replace several ties after a season ) another option is using the aluminium ties these last longer but are a lot trickier to find.
hope this helps
Ps i like the old style crazy carpets because thier thicker and more slippery for shedding snow, if you use a new one make sure the shiny side goes down. One crazy carpet will make a $h!t load of anty's ball's plate's
