Greetings from a new member of this forum. http://users.ntua.gr/...ing%20the%20crux.jpg This is a shot of a historical route just outside Athens. I like it because it relates with the location quite succesfully (the newly build Olympic village is visible on the backround). I also like the climber's tense look just before the crux. Any comments are appreciated.

I would have made it more of a panorama- right now the tree (which is pretty cool, btw) is hogging the frame and I am looking more at the tree than the climber. Pull the frame more right, show us more city, and then the tree will be more of an "anchor" than the main subject. If your climber could be leaning back just a little more, to mimick the tree, that'd be neat. And if he were wearing a brighter shirt too.

Right now the tree and the climber are competing..... this would be a nice landscape image without the climber.... but this is Rockclimbing.com not landscape.com sooooo if he was bat hanging from the tree that would be cool!!!!!! shit.. IDK.... the tree is really cool.... I just can't think of a good composition including the tree, the climber, the rock and the background..... Yea..... I think that a panoramic shot would work pretty well, like climbsomething recommended..... I think that the space in between the tree and the climber needs to be a little more to help with that seperation. Also maybe just a wider shot in general. Open it up, see more right now everything is cramped in there, seems like it needs more space, more to see, more going on like this guy is really high, but there's only this little bit of rock that he's climbin on...... good exposure and lighting and colors. I think some action too would help. He seems like he's chillin. There's no movement. Looks like a beautiful place!!!!!!

Very cool elements, but like Merock said, something needs to be changed. I think I agree with moving the frame right. Even cropping out the left and top of the pic so the climber is in the corner improves things a bit. Can't quite put my finger on exactly what to do though. Still a very sweet pic anyway. :)

I think you should photoshop the climber off the rock and on to the tree!

How long did it take you to do those photoshop edits? I'm still pretty slow with the program and can't imagine putting the time into humorously editing someone else's photo. How fast do the "pros" do stuff like this?

I don't know about 5 minutes, but definitely fairly quick. If you look at the post times of the suggestion and then the product, its exactly 30 mins different. I definitely wasn't working on it the whole 30 mins. Id say 10 - 20 mins for a decent job. And yes, LEARN THE KEY COMMANDS!!!!!!!!!

haha thats cool but please tell me you don't believe the edited one looks better than the original:) Anyway thanks for your comments guys (and gals)! It seems that that the soup has nice ingredients (view, tree etc) but for some reason is not tasty enough... Gotta go live on my marble temple now, talking about philosophy, organising olympics and eating mousaka and olives...
