Seems you've got it covered. Stinson Beach has some boulder problems right by the water.

Whoa...hang on a sec. How do you live in northern CA and have never been bouldering outside? (too young to drive?) Maybe I'm the only one who read the topic three times in disbelief. Anyway, have a great time. Stay hydrated! That always helps a lot.

In reply to: uber long bouldering brush. I didn't think people actually used these things until I spent two weeks in bishop and saw like 10 of them. Is this nuts or what?

I like to sport a little towel or big rag so i can hit the climb if its dirty or wipe down my shoes. In fact ive stepped it up and put a chalk ball in the middle so ive got a longer chalking range. Its the norm here in France, I dont know about america...

i saw an article recently about a guy who invented a new motivational crash pad. Instead of the usual padding it had six inch spikes. you might not want to bring one of those though.

Well.....The long bouldering brush is key!! Will come in handy. Also, don't forget plenty of water, and a small first aid kit just in case :D

If your in the Bay Area and want to go primarily bouldering outside, check out Castle Rock State Park and neighboring Sanborn-Skyline State Park for some really nice sandstone bouldering. There is a route database for CRSP here: http://www.rockclimbing.com/routes/listArea.php?AreaID=745 And this Supertopo link is nice also: http://www.drtopo.com/califo/castlerock.pdf Enjoy yourself and there's also some good sport climbing in the area as well. - Dan P.S. Definitely bring a swatch of carpet to wipe your feet off, and make sure you don't climb on the rock when it is wet.

don't forget the beanie, baggy pants, your S7 crashpad, uber cool see through lens sunglasses, patagonia belay jacket, your favorite good luck doll, a crew of your friends, the ghetto blaster, 2 lbs of chalk, tons of weed, and a bullhorn to spray beta from.

Dude, I can't believe that no one has mentioned instruction. You climb in the gym? Have you taken their intro to outdoor bouldering class? If not, you will be in constant mortal danger out there. There are tree roots that you can trip over. That outdoor rock feels funny. There are no tape on the holds, so it's easy to get off-problem if you don't have an instructor to show you the way. At the very least, go to the bookstore and buy freedom of the hills. Read all 4 bouldering chapters twice, and then maybe you won't die bouldering outside.

$100k in cash. Unmarked, non-consecutive bills. Meet me at the third streetlight from the end of the south parking lot at the Presidio. Alone, unarmed. No funny stuff.
