Jules George passed away yesterday. I dont know how many of you knew jules, I only knew her through brief phone conversation, but if you have ever had shoes resoled at red rocks, you can probably thank Jules for the great service and quality provided. What a loss. Motorcycle Fatality LAS VEGAS (AP) - Las Vegas police were investigating a deadly motorcycle crash that occurred on the city's east side Sunday. A 37-year-old Las Vegas woman riding a 1991 Harley Davidson died when witnesses said she allegedly ran a red light just before 11 a.m., police said. The Harley Davidson crashed into the side of a 1990 Ford Thunderbird as it was making a left turn, witnesses told police. The Harley rider was flown to University Medical Center where she died shortly after arriving, hospital officials said. It was the 59th fatal traffic collision in Las Vegas police jurisdiction this year.

I'm so very sad to hear this. She will be missed by the climbing community greatly. She went the extra mile in her business to give the most personal service possible. In the contact I had with her, she would make you feel like her most important customer. This is a tragic loss of a very special person. Jody

Oh. I interacted with her briefly for shoe resoling. When the shoes were mailed back, the bag included a couple candies. It was a nice touch. I am saddened by the news.

wow. what a bummer and a shocker... Jules has resoled my shoes for years. Actually Jules is the only resoler I have ever had. I met her on numerous occasions when I would come in to vegas for some climbin'. I drew some cartoons on her resole table last year, and this year I did a cartoon for a decal she wanted to produce and sell through a biking club of hers. She was a funny and strong woman with a lotta character. She always went out of her way to help me have a good trip with some new resoles, beta or even an airport run. She spent many years in the joshua tree area guiding and teaching many to climb before going full-bore with her resole shop. She will be missed by many. Fly'n Brian's resoles is also in vegas and although they were competitors; he is also a good resoler and those of you that usually mail to Jules for your resoles, might I suggest mailing to him...? Cheers, Jules, it was great getting to know you while you were here. Jer Collins

I only knew Jules through phone and email conversations, but she was always the best of people. She always went the extra mile for customers. When she started doing my resoles I swore no one else would ever fix mine or any of my friends shoes again. I was going to send my shoes in this week. I know that every one who ever met her will miss her greatly. Via Con Dios Jules [ This Message was edited by: biggernhell on 2002-06-19 13:00 ]
