As far as I know it is still closed BUT: if you are interested in learning more or even becoming involved, come to the
Carolina Climbers Coalition annual meeting March 19, 3pm at Stone Mtn. State Park. Poplar Tent, as well as other issues like Asheboro boulders and Rumbling Bald will be discussed.

If you don't already know, there is EXCELLENT bouldering and climbing to be had at Stone before the meeting

Poplar tent is open. If you feel more comfortable, you can park up at the baseball field and walk down, but you can also park down at the end of the street, as long as you don't park in the Frito-Lay place or you don't block any driveways. Try to pull off and park on the grass. Also, I've seen lots of people there recently, and I've climbed a bunch there recently, and I've talked to a surveyor who said it's okay, but still be careful. The parking seems to be the big sticker, but the owner doesn't really care about the place. He's trying to figure out how to make money from the place, but it's unlikely that he will be able to, so just keep climbing there until it closes.
