I am 5'9" and weight 180. My partner is 6'1" and is about 210. I think weight definately restricts our climbing. We are both easy 5.10 climbers having difficulty getting higher. Overhangs sap the strength from me. A better question would be...Of those climbers weighting between 180 and 220 lbs, what grade do you climb?

I'm 5'11 and weigh 4 pounds... that's right - four pounds - And because I'm so light, I'm the best climber in the world.

Everyone weighs approximately: 930,000,000,000 pounds. This is based upon 2002 figures the that there were approximately 6.2 billion people on the planet, with the assumption that the average weight is 150 pounds per person. The number is obviously more now, considering that the world population is growing at just over 2 people per second. The global projection for the year 2050 is 9.19 billion people, which assuming the average weight is 150 pounds, everyone will weigh approximately: 1,378,500,000,000 pounds. With any luck the global population by that time will be spread out enough that such a large increase in weight will not throw the earth's rotation off. I personally weight 160 lbs, 6'1"

With the increasing rates of obesity in Europe and North America, you may need to reconsider that average weight of 150lbs. Me - about 4lbs too much.

In reply to: 6' even, 210 lbs. Me and a friend about my size joke about the importance of having fat, bad climbers around; we find all the loose holds, weak bolts, and marginal anchors so all you 125 lb mofos don't have to worry about getting hurt. Nice one! Like the philisophy. 5'11 180'

So... I have a funny story. I was climbing with a friend who weighs a lot more than me...Everything was fine...till he took a nasty fall. I was totally launched like 6 feet into the air...He weighs 300 lbs...he is 6'7 so...but wiehgt doesnt really matter so much...I mean 350 is pushing it, but it deals more with your streanght-to-weight ratio.

6' 1" and ~ 180 lbs 1. I tell myself I should lose weight to climb better 2. But mmm... pizza sounds good. Better wait till tomorrow 3. Return to step 1 (repeat many times) ..... 4. Yeah, like that's ever going to happen. Might as well just learn to climb better.....

I weighed 200 when I started climbing. I now weigh 265 since I started climbing hard. I think I have hit the limit of diminishing returns with the whole strenght/musle to weight ratio.
