Hey Joe, How about a reply to let us know what your thoughts were on the names that everyone came up with. On a side note I will be picking up a mad pad today at REI's big sale to give bouldering a try. Best regards, Marc Webster

Neuroses-- the plural sounds cooler than the singular neurosis-- but, then again, if used for a pair of shoes, perhaps the plural is perfectly appropriate. Plus, by the posts on this board, it's pretty easy to note that most of us have more than one mental problem . . .

Shoes: saguaros (yes the cactus, STICKY! just like shoes should be) harnesses: aphrodite (obviously more appropriate for a women's harness, and perhaps to similar to venus for them to want to use it, but hey, why not.) either harness or shoes: silvan: original meaning= of or pertaining to the woods; has since come to be associated with elves thanks to Tolkein and the rest of the fantasy genre after him. either meaning works pretty well for climbing gear. one is just outdoorsy, the other is a very well balanced (physical balance) highly dextrous and very in tune with nature humanoid. something most climbers should aspire to be in at least some regards.

I owned a pair of mad rocks, best shoes for the gym, cheap, good soft gym rubber, but outdoors they dont hold an edge and the rubber wears super quick, Id only use them indoors that being said they should name them with numbers and letters and crap like that, like mercedes like C100, C200, Im tired of all these names that are supposed to evoke these images, its the worst in SUV's like the Ridgeline, or Tahoe. Just give them a simple name, how am I supposed to talk to someon about shoes, Did you get the Crazies, or the Frenzies or the Locos? Dude I want simple numbers with out going into some kind of psychosomatic shock while trying to purchase a pair of shoes. That is unless they want to name it the TRonsite
