The wholesale price for unleaded gas is at it's lowest level since March 1st and almost 30 cents off it's high in early April. Has anyone seen a proportionate drop at the pumps? I haven't.

In reply to: Are we being gouged? Remember when the gas filler tube was behind the license plate? Car manufacturers quite doing this because the symbolism was too blatant.

Martha... we ain't at three bucks, yet. But you still have over a month to go.

Doesn't it usually take a week or so for new prices to show up at the pump?

Not a conspiracy. It's standard practice, done in plain site. There may be a wink and a nod, but I doubt there's any collusion going on.

In reply to: get rid of your gas guzzling pig!! ...for now I need da pig...last week I had 12 ..count em...12 teenage girls and a CD player maxed for carpool. She sits most of the week and heads out on road trips over the weekend with 6-8 on board typically. So I don't have a problem with the pig. Arret...that would be ONE vehicle...43 gallon tank...if you want to own a Suburban you have to go with the big tank (spare tire inside truck)...you don't worry about MPG...you look at HPG...I can go 10-10 1/2" hours on a full tank... Love MA Pig

So, in a couple of years that will cost you about $21 per hour of driving. I think I'll stick with my little 50mpg car.
