Hi Folks Just rediscovered what an awesome forum this is. I totally appreciate all the work everyone has put into the great info here. The courage to innovate is great! Anyway, for me, Aid Climbing is like sex. I'm more obsessed with it before a big session than afterwards. Just got off Zodiac so it'll be a week or two before I start dreaming of the stone some more. I have a Trip Report of the latest climb on my website at www.newsguy.com/~climbing/El_Cap_Zodiac_20_years.html enjoy! Peace Karl

Welcome to the site. Nice TR. The question of when and where to take a piss has haunted me a number of times as well.

Dang Karl! That was awesome! Those pics were great, especially "Brett Cleaning Pitch 9 In The Circle" and the sunset one. Are you going to post those pics here on rc? You know, you should have gotten that bruin to help you haul somehow, I'll bet he could have saved you a lot of time with the pigs.

Nice report and very cool photos! about the obsessing first and taking a break after...for me I am always thinking about aid climbing, but right afterwards is when I am sky high excited about it. As soon as I get off the wall I am dying to just run right back up again. Its almost like I *know* that I like it when I am doing other things but then when I get on the wall and right when I get off I have the clear true vision of how much I love being up there! Anyway, I think I am in the forgetful mode now because I keep trading my aid weekends for alpine rock...but Index is calling me for next week. P.S. "Aid climbing is like sex..." for a minute I thought PTPP was back! BTW, when I saw the title to this thread,"...Zodiac TR" I though how in the heck do you "top rope" Zodiac!

The Bruin was indeed prepared to help us haul. The problem was, he only wanted to help haul the food bag and he had another route in mind! Peace karl Actually, come to think about it. It's always the first day or two of aid that's hard. Once my mind gives up it comfort seeking habit, it seems all I have ever done is stand in slings.

yeah... its the 24 hour syndrome hardest to overcome if you do the route in less than 24 hours from the ground!
