I'm with ya migo, I feel it to, my Boxer Katie died back in 99', I still feel like shit about it, she had a brain tumer and collapsed, nothing we could do but put her down, your rottie was a great beast, we should all be so lucky to have had such a wonderful friend as her. Take care my friend, I'm deeply sorry for your loss. Matt

Ed, I just got back from non-Internet world and I saw that Phoenix is gone now, and you already know that I'm here for you if you need it, but I'll share a little story for you . . . As you know, I lost my best dog 3 years ago. He was mellow and funny and valiant. I had him through college and high school, and as I was starting a new life, he was ending his, and not peacefully. My sister's oldest kid just turned 5 this month. I went to her house today to visit with the kids before heading back to SLO and had the Fury with me. Collin (the oldest) asked me where "the big dog" was. He remembers Dusty. He was like, "Why do you always have this small dog? I remember him being bigger?" The kid was 2 when he last saw Dusty. My heart about broke . . . and that's what the meaning of living legacy is to me - for people or dogs. It's the fact that people will remember your loved ones into the future, even when you think they had no effect on the rememberers lives. And that's about the best anyone can do for you is remember.

ed, so sorry for the loss of your pup. they fill a space that no human could, and it is terrible to lose them. it sounds like you have found a wonderful way to honor pheonix's memory. i hope you find a way to take care of yourself equally as gently.
