Trouble Brewing?

I think that it's sad that a landowner feels the need to shut down acsess because he/ she's worried that some idiot who falls down a mine shaft will turn around and sue them. There has to be a common sense clause or something that go along with land ownership.

Glad Im getting these in tommorow.

I cant honestly say I can blame landowners. OMG am I turning into a republican?! The buzz on 14'er.com is that the landowners really don't want to do this and that someting will be worked out.

Ooops. I was up Bross a little over a month ago. Some guy on a dirt bike was driving around 12,000' and said hello. I had no idea it was private property. I could have tagged the other peaks if I hadn't felt so crappy and there was less avy risk. Roach's guide lists private property, but nothing on this one. Must be further out of date than I thought.

Guess I snuck that one past. Hopefully I can get the others later this year.

Zozo and Skibbi, I may be swinging back out in a few weeks to scout Elbert and Massive, and maybe tick off a couple of others. I'll holler at y'all.

I wish people would read the laws, just about every state has a limited liability law, for recreation. That means land owners can not be sued, if you hike, fish or climb on their property.

Check out the Access Fund article.
http://www.accessfund.org/pdf/riskmgmt05.pdf

Spread the word land owners that let people use their property to recreate on are covered better than some one walking up to your front door and trips over your kids toys.
