To reply, I thought so too that 'everyone's did,' but I have also been told 'no' to my question. (Just trying to figure out how many people have non-malodorous urine postprandially after asparagus ingestion.) Besides, I did think it a quite funny topic.

It is a funny topic - no doubt.
To expand it a bit - - I have a friend who will not eat a Burger King Whopper because they give him gas that smells EXACTLY like a whopper. Creeps him out!! Makes me laugh 'til I cry!

I have been conducting scientific experiments on my excretion too! too bad my lab partner Jeff (wormly81) doesn't quite have the, ummm, talent?; that i do when it comes to producing subjects for experimentation.
I have been eating alot of aspargus. My piss does smell, but i think it depends on what you eat with the asparagus.
Im off to the lab, i'll keep you posted

No, but I don't even get B.O. after climbing all weekend without showering. My body somehow seems to be odorproof.

Haven't had the joy of consuming asparagus.
But I can tell you, with authority, that pineapple juice enhances the taste of ejaculants. We designed the experiment, used a control, etc. etc.

Abso-freaking-lutely. In fact, for me it happens surprisingly fast. If I pee 15 minutes after eating asparagus, it smells. I'll call the smell "gunny." I don't think it smells anything at all like the asparagus. If it did, I wouldn't be eating asparagus.

Actually my partners are the ones that informed me of this. It usually goes something like this: "Good lord I reek. You don't smell at all, what's wrong with you?"

Emphatically YES!
BUT.... My girlfriend who is Japanese does not get smelly aspargus pee!
Apparently, they metabolize it differently. It is kinda a joke with my japanese friends. They really don't believe me.
I love asparagus.

I discussed this very topic with a guy who had his PhD in agronomy. He said that the verdict was still out whether only some people's pee smells funny after eating aqsparagus--or whether only some people have an olfactory gene that detects the change in odor. Yet another pointless perspective to take into consideration.

No idea ... I don't smell the toilet after I take a piss. It does, however, amaze me to how many people actually stick their nose in the bowl for a wiff!!! :shock: :shock: I wonder how many people went out and bought some asparagus to see where they fall in theis test?

Add another huge YES to the tally. I don't recall that it *used* to make my urine smell so odd, so I suspect it's gotten worse with age?? Maybe I've lost some critical enzymes in my gut... Or purhaps Curt's bit of "pointless perspective" is incredibly accurate, since as I've gotten older I can detect everything from cigarette smoke to perfume a block away. What an interesting thread...
