Where is the best place to rent a boat to do some soloing at Summersville Lake? and does anyone know the maximum amount of people these boats can hold?
Thanks :)

Not much info. And what does exist sounds expensive.

thanks a bunch. i hadn't seen that posting, but you're right, there's not too much info. hopefully someone knows some more.
we're looking to get a bunch of people to go so that way the boat rental won't be so expensive

Hey, I just did another post regarding this. For up to four people, Summersville Lake Marina (304-872-1331) rents John Boats out for $100 per day (0900-1930). They also rent out pontoon boats which hold up to 10, but they rent them at $250 per day. There's a place down the road maybe a mile called West Virginia Watersports that rents out the pontoon boats for the low, low price of $180, however, you must transport them yourself. I went down and rented a John Boat this past weekend and had a wicked awesome time. Peace.

There is another thread that contains more info than the one linked above.

West Virginia Water Sport's phone number is 304-872-6907. I rented from them. You have to launch the boat yourself, the boat launch (salmon run boat ramp) is very close to WV Water Sport, and they do have a van with a trailer hitch you can borrow to launch the boat, if you don't have a truck with a hitch.
