So I've been on a 2 month climbing / exploratory trip across Canada. Initially this was just a vacation however the more time I spent in the west the less I wanted to go back to Toronto. After spending alot of time in both Calgary and Vancouver - I have finally decided on Calgary! :)

I have flip flopped between Calgary and Vancouver several times, I finally felt the force pulling me to Calgary that just does't exist with Vancouver. The mountains around Canmore and Banff litter my dreams.

Most - ok ALL of my non-climbing friends can't believe I could even consider Calgary - I guess that's why they aren't climbers. All I want to do is get my ass back up to the alpine.

So that being said I need new friends and climbing partners... I only know a handful of people in Calgary and only a single climber.

I LOVE long trad routes, hard sport climbs, and even ice - basically if its climbing I want to do it.

I'm funny, very safe and always up for pushing hard... Drop me a line if you'd like to tie in with me.

Hey,

I won't be in Calgary for another 8 months or so but I will look you up when I get there.

Cheers.

First off we don't call it CDot..... only people from the east use that expression, it will cause you to stick out and be ridiculed, you don't want that!
Secondly, I always looking for another climbing buddy.

I've been a partner of Hoppin's for several years... although sad to see him leave the east, I know his heart is in the west. Anyone who gets the chance to climb with him will be glad they did.

hey man, just been climbing for a few months, no rope, myself and a buddy have been driving about and looking for new places to climb and like you haven't found to many climbers(although there are lots around); like I said we begginers but the extra company and experience is always welcome.

According to the little rope doo-hikkys on the left, I've climbed with three of the five people who have posted already. Just an idle bit of useless trivia.

Hey I come and climb with you, do I have to be your friend? :P

Hi!

I am currently living and working at the Columbia Icefields, but I plan on moving back to the city in mid October.

I still consider myself a beginner, but I like all types of climbing and being in mountains.

If you're up for it, let me know.

Cheers.

Hey, I'm new to Calgary only here for a short time (until Oct 9-10) but looking to get out to the mountains at least once or twice. I'm new to the sport but safe and can follow up to 5.10 or so. From Newfoundland. Also up for alpine hikes, scambles etc.

Well I should be in Calgary by around the second week of November so I hope the Bow Valley and surrounds are getting wet and cold these days. I expect to get out on plenty of ice this winter so I'll be looking for partners when I get there.

Does anyone have any leads on apartments? A cheap place that looks like a palace would be nice  OK cheap but clean will do.
