Hi there

Me and a few friends are heading to Zion area in November. Now I have no idea of the climate around here besides the fact that its cold at night. How cold is it? Is it bearable for camping? Any good campsites you reccomend (we will need basic facilities at min)? Will there be other campers to socialise with in Nov?

Or do you know of any other comfy (yet relatively cheap) accomodation options nearby.

Cheers

Peter

25 to 30 degrees overnight. nothing to bad if you have a nice sleeping bag and tent. The only camping with basic facilities are inside the park, so just check with the staff when you get in.

Hmm, thats like -1 to -5 in the metric scale, which isnt too bad. unfortunatly, we have a certain person in our group who needs "comfort", and that may just be a bit too cold to convince her to try camping. Hmm.

Know of any half decent motels, b&b's, other places that are good priced??

The only indoor spots I know about are bars but there look to be some nice B&B's as you approach the park through Grafton, Rockville and Springville (all are within 20 min. of the park). They should be cheap during the off season, but they also might be closed for the off season.
good luck with your quest to turn a nice little princess into a desert rat

St. George is lousy with motels. Advertising low rates on weekdays that get doubled for the weekends, or when some function like baseball comes to town.

Just camp in the Park. The restrooms by the visitor center stay open all night and are heated.

True, but Springdale is a really cool little spot to hang out in, and is the entrance to Zion. You and the princess would enjoy staying there.

A motel in Springdale will run you between $40 and $50 (US) in November. It can be decent camping, or it could snow 6" (15cm) over night, like it did to me one weekend last November. Keep in mind, if you're camping, it gets dark around 5pm, and everything closes early so you will have a lot of darkness in the evening when you'll have to try to entertain yourselves.

Dude, you are from fvcking VANCOUVER!!!! Does she live inside during the 10 months you are burried in snow?!?! Just camp in the "It Floods, You Die" campground, cuddle up to her, and tell her to "DEAL". If you guys are climbing in Zion, won't it suck even more when you still have 4 pitches to go and it's 8pm?!?!

Leave the princess home unless she can lead A3.
