A few things-- The Lincoln was never stationed on the East Coast. It's home port is in Washington. The time it did spend on the East Coast was while it was getting built. So it never had a strike group assigned to it while it was in Norfolk/Newport News Shipbuilding. Also the capitan of the ship doesn't command the bridge and navigation most of the time. That falls to the OOD (Officer of the Deck). However, given the level of arrogance that anyone above E-6 maintains I can totally see this happening.

I, too have heard this numerous times. The only thing that changes is the country of the asshole's ship -- it depends on who's doing the telling. Cheers, A.W.

In reply to: I gotta agree with Boon on everything. Especially the comptency of those above E-6. Thank god I got out at E-5 eh? Agree with who? And I'll probably be getting out as an E-5 as well. I only have a year left and 2 exams to take. The odds are not good. No stress though, I'm looking forward to the day I can tell anyone who expects me to shave to die.
