just got back from a trip last week to there..i was there from last tues - thursday right before the storm...the buttermilks were extremely windy..huge gusts made some of the top outs not so enjoyable..the happies were amazing...so ya..bishop is fine

Well this is what Bishop looked like yesterday morning: http://i32.photobucket.com/...060103_Robin_Ski.jpg This picture was taken along the canal about a mile east of downtown. My fiancee and I went skiing literally out of her front door in Bishop. I'd guess the snow'll probably melt and things'll dry off within the week, but I could be wrong!

Really. I got to try out my new backcountry skis on my way down First Street. I imagine there'll be something dry enough to climb by the time the road's open, but like I said, I could be wrong.

Does anyone know a way to bypass the road closure from Bridgeport to Lee Vining on the way to Bishop. Or has anyone heard when the road is scheduled to reopen? Thanks much.
