I am planning a road trip from mid July-mid August and will be leaving TN and would like to end up in Boulder, Co... I was wondering what places I should hit on the way? Thinking about making a circle, heading north up there thru maybe KY, SoIll, MO, and KS then hitting TX, OK, and AR on the way back... any suggestions would be great... my partner and I lead sport up to 11 and trad 9s maybe 10... thanks so much! Also if anyone wants to meet up along the way and climb/camp whatever we'd love to meet up... :)

If you are going through So Ill, then definitely hit Jackson Falls for sport. Drapers Bluff is definitely the premier trad area in So Ill, but it also has many sport and mix pro climbs. Drapers is on private land, but the guy is a climber and allows anybody to come and climb for free, but it would be great to leave a donation, because the upkeep of the place costs alot. If you want to camp in a tent, then Fern Clyffe State Park is the closed to Drapers-- like 10 minutes away. To get more info on routes and directions, go the the Southern Illinois Section on the Routes page. Missouri has pretty exellent bouldering at Elephant Rock State Park. DMac

No question: http://www.climbhcr.com/Sharma-Prophet.jpg Chris Sharma on "the Prophet" at Horseshoe Canyon Ranch in Jasper, AR. Camping/Climbing is $10 a day or for $5 a night you can camp at Steel Creek or Kyle's Landing, both 10 minutes away on the Buffalo National River. www.climbhcr.com PM me and we'd be glad to show you around. Cheers, A.W.

Thanks so much... How many of these camp grounds allow pop up trailors? Would that be a problem anywhere? We are thinking of renting one from our friends...
