This is a total shot in the dark, but here-gos... I ride a 61cm Specialized mountain bike, and have really been itching to get a decent road bike. My Dad has an old Schwinn Super le Tour, but seeing as how I'm almost a foot taller than him, and it's his bike, it doesn't really fit me. I'm somewhat partial to Specialized (I'd love to get an Allez comp) but I'm really not that picky... anyone looking to unload a large road bike? And I've already checked on e-bay. A ton of higher end bikes for sale, a ton of frame-only deals, but I'm looking for a somewhat cheap entire bike. Thanks.

Depending on where you are, a ton of bikes move on craigslist, often bigger stuff as well. Also bikeforums, obviously.

There are some nice bikes on Roadbike Review.com (in the classified section). Colorado Cyclist.com catalog carries the Douglas Fusion, which has had great reviews. They are relatively "cheap" bike for $1500 built with Ultegra. Bicycling Editors Choice award for 2005.

road bikes... get a fixed gear and you'll never go back to the hassles of gears and brakes (and other roadies).

i ride a sexy allez comp and i love it ... her name is candi and the girlfriend hates the competition shes also jealous of the long hours i spend riding candi  with all seriousness though the allez comp is the way to go especially if you plan on sticking with road biking for a while. you can usually find pretty good deals on them too. A great value in my opinion

Hi there- In case you're interested, I'm selling a very lightly used (<500 miles) Douglas Fusion 59cm frame on e-bay. I bought it a bit too large for my riding style and I'm about 6'2" 170lbs: http://cgi.ebay.com/...QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem I bought it as a complete bike from Colorado Cyclist, and this setup is a great deal with nice wheels and parts if you don't want to build up a frame. IMO, the brand of a frame only contributes a tiny bit to the overall ride. Good luck.

How about a 1985 vintage Trek 660 road bike? All original except for the tires and cables.
