I'm in a local gear shop today and see a "Slyder" made by Kong. Unfortunately the clerks didn't really have a clue what it was used for. But I was intrigued. It looks similar to the Kong adjustable fifi hook except that it has no hook. Instead it has a large enough hole to clip in a biner. Additionally this thing is quite thick (3/8") and has holes big enough to accomodate ropes much thicker than the 7 mm recommended for the adjustable fifi. I'm guessing it is also for some kind of adjustable tie-in system, but stronger than body weight only.

Anyone every seen or used one?

Hi Twrock,
The SLYDE can be used just like the adjustable KONG FiFi Hook. Instead of a hook, you use a carabiner to attach yourself to the gear. In theory the SLYDE is better because the carabiner shouldn't come off the piece your attached to like the FiFi Hook.
The problem I found was that the SLYDE is its bulky and I ended up using a 9mm cord !!! I also like the FiFi Hook better because it is easier to get it off a piece of gear --- trying to unclip a carabiner can be awkward.

also, looks like it can be used as a re-useable screamer, for reducing impact forces on a shakey piece of gear.

My understanding of this gear is that it is an adjustable daisy. I've heard that it works really well. And you can replace the cord as it wears.

Thanks everyone. I will check out the Kong link as soon as it starts working again. I had searched for Kong but was spelling "Bonaiti" wrong and never made the connection. Oh, and I was calling it a "Slyder" as well, which didn't help.
