Hello - I was here about a month ago posting for partners to climb some sport routes with. I know that lotsa CO climbers climb trad, but I'm just a GA girl and I'm looking just to get some routes in while I'm back in CO for a business trip. I can climb also on the 26th of February - my flight gets in that day pretty early so I might be able to meet some people that day too.

I'm bringing my crash pad and draws, harness, all them goodies, just don't have a rope yet.

I've only been climbing a year so I am not terribly strong but I can send 5.9 and one of my projects is a 5.10b that I can fly thru the crux of but just can't get my ass over the overhangy part... still got some technique to learn. But I love it and don't want to pass up a CO trip and miss out on some climbing. I boulder slabby stuff V3 V4 consistently, but I'm telling ya, I got a lot of technique to learn with that overhangy junk. Blah.

I thought about just riding out to one of these spots to see if I could catch a ride on somebody's rope. But I'd rather there be SOME organization to it with someone who knows some good routes and isn't looking to climb balls to the wall that day and wouldn't mind entertaining a GA girl.

PLEASE PM me if you might be willing. I'd appreciate it more than you know.

Hey all! Anyone remeber Kim and Jeremy? Well, we are still alive!!!
Australia has been interesting to say the least. Bushfires threatened to cancel our climbing plans, brutal heat threatened to cancel me, and I almost lost Kim on fly by night wombat hunting expedition.
We are just coming off of a week and a half of climbing at the Arapiles (the Eldo of Oz) and had a sweet trip. We were both getting a little depressed at the thought of coming all this way and not climbing much. But the Araps changed that. We ticked off classics galore and got our asses spanked quite a few times. Good fun though!

We are off to Greece in a week or so and we should have some pics by then.

See you all soon.

J

Hey Brook, I wouldn't mind getting a few pitches in on Sunday. I have a rope and a rack, the whole nine yards. Let me know what the deal is and if the weather holds we can get some climbs in. I know some great 5.9's and 5.10's in Boulder canyon and Eldo.

Just moved back to Colorado and looking for climbing partners outside and in. But rather be outside. I am a Safe and competent climber. Solid 5.9 trad leader and will do 5.10’s, but may take a hang or 2, have no idea where I am at in sport. If you need references talk to Timstich or Reno.

Climb with this dude! We had a great time. Reno introduced me originally. Dave, get in touch with crankenstein (Scott Hudson) and glad2Btrad (Dave Hodgson). They don't read this thread as often and say mother_sheep and nicerack, who I would highly recommend climbing with as well.

Have fun with the climbs, guys.

Get this, a new climber just joined our Austin group and she did her first lead the other weekend, and, has already gone down to Potero Chico and climbed the Spires and a three pitch route. Pretty cool.

Here's to some good weather this weekend for all of us, near and far.

Later,

-Tim

5 weeks and counting until the start of the official climbing season.

Daylight Savings Time, BABY!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't forget about the party to welcome in the 2006 Rock Climbing Season on 4-1-06. And everyone shed a tear for Jen because she'll be getting pampered and waxed like a gurl and won't be able to attend.

Jen, how about sending over a life size cardboard 'paper doll' to stand in your place at the party? Make sure you're flipping the bird with one hand and we'll put a beer in the other one.

Tim, thanks for the kind words. Nicerack and Mushroomcloud_2 are awesome and looking forward to climbing with them again. I will try to get in touch with Scott and Dave.

My last two partner in Cali were name Dave too. My last climb in Joshua Tree before I moved back was with both of them. It was an interesting day because there was another Dave’s in the area too. 4 Dave’s in total. All you heard was ‘Dave on belay’, ‘Dave climbing’, ‘Dave climb on’, ‘Dave off belay’. “WHICH DAVE OFF BELAY!!!!!!!”

Hey guys/girls. It's been a while since I've posted. Hope everyone is doing well. I was wondering if anyone wanted to get in some bouldering sometime? I work this weekend but I'm off Wed:3/1 and the following Sat-Tues.

If anyone has been out to Morrison in the past few weeks, I found one of my shoes out there yesterday. Thing must have been out there for at least two months. Didn't even know it was missing. :?

Thanks for the time change reminder Cindy! In that case I will need to find a partner to get my climbing pimp on. Soooooo, if there is anyone left alive in Colorado Springs who still climbs, I would like to get out after work a couple of times a week. GOG and RRC are the obvious spots. BTW, I like BEER, if that helps. 8^)

PS: Didn't anyone else think that Gizoogle site was hilarious?

Don't forget that many of the Flatiron's, especially the east faces are closed right now for the raptor season. This includes the third. The first should be open.

Caution: Career Spray to follow! :)

I just wanted my climbing friends to know that I was put into the hiring pool at FedEx. WHOO HOO! :) I have to successfully complete a background check to exit the pool. Once cleared, I will be assigned an aircraft and domicile. Training will begin "as assigned" and should last 10-12 weeks. The next class is in April. I don't know if I'll be pulled from the pool for that one but I do anticipate to be pulled in the next three to six months.

My contacts at FedEx say that it is highly possible that I could see one of the following:

MD-11 First Officer Anchorage
727 First Officer Memphis
727 Flight Engineer Memphis

Regardless of base, I still plan to reside and play here in the Denver/Boulder area. The schedules at FedEx will make that possible. You have the choice of working one week on and one week off - OR - two weeks on and two weeks off. With either schedule, it still equals more quality of life on my days off as opposed to the 5 on and 3 off I currently have now. Commuting from Chicago on 3 days off equals about 2 days off at home - not much quality time in that arrangement.

There were 11,300 qualified applicants on file. They are hiring 350-500 this year. I feel honored to have been selected for the interview much less for the pool. If hired, I bet my bar tab will be about $850! :)

Thanks for letting me spray. This career possibility has been 14 years in the making.
