Dear Fellow Climbers-
We are proud to invite all university students to the University of Kansas collegiate rock climbing (bouldering) competition on April 1st, 2006! All of us at KU have been working hard for the past couple of months to pull together an outstanding event that is sure to draw in talent from around the country. We realize that coming to our comp. requires you to travel to Kansas City, so we are making sure that attending is not only worth your while, but irresistible! What we have come up with is a competition beyond even our own expectations! We have managed to rent an amazing facility that has proved its worth by hosting many American Bouldering Series competitions. The staff that sets these professional level problems are the very same that are setting our own, which ensures an unprecedented quality for every problem. Because we would hate for you to go hungry we have also made sure to get this event catered by local restaurants. For your musical enjoyment we are providing DJs throughout the competition who will be spinning a variety of tunes guaranteed to provide any psyc. needed to pull through that last move. No comp. would be complete without prizes, so each competitor will receive a t-shirt and climbing magazines just for entering. Of course there will also be a wonderful gear give away where climbers will be drawn to win great gear from our generous sponsors.
This competition is open to ANY university student. We realize that many of you do not have clubs or teams at your school and we hope that in no way stops you from coming. We have set the stage for an outstanding comp., all we need now to complete the dream is for you to attend! The more the merrier so tell all your friends and remember that there is a beginner level for anyone who would like to compete but is not yet experienced in the world of climbing. If you know anyone that will be interested in this event, please forward them this message so the word gets out. Pre-registration is only $20 but ends March 25th (day of registration is also available), so make sure to register soon!
