OK Random question. My dad really likes sketches and paintings of all types. He just recently got into rock climbing and i would like to find him some rock climbing art, i.e. paintings and such. but i have not been able to find much i have found two artist, but for the most part all i can find are pictures. Don't get me wrong the pictures are amazing, but just curious if rock climbing art exist and if so where? Thank you Roberto

well, I experimented with a photo that i downloaded off RC.com ages ago. It's done in oil on canvas paper - yep, my dream job is to be a climbing bum/starving artist (minus the bum and the starving part  ) http://www.rockclimbing.com/...to_show.php?id=73163

this prolly isn't exactly what you're looking for, but if you're interested, the Berkeley Touchstone Ironworks gym rotates "rock climbing art" (photos, painintgs, etc..) every now and then. Currently, they're showing a few mosiac pieces of rock climbing. It's not really my thing, but if you're really desperate for some stuff, i'm sure they'd be more than willing to give u contact info for the artists. Here's the website: http://touchstoneclimbing.com/bi.html

one of my climbing partners is an incredible artist. she does beautiful watercolors of landscapes, people, and climbers. if you look through old climbing or rock and ice mags, look for ads from the last two ouray ice fests, the artwork in those ads is hers. you can check out the climbing art on her website here, but definitely look at some of the other stuff on there - http://www.sbinderdesigns.com/Outdoor_front_page.html

Check out the work done by Rock & Ice Illustrator Jeremy Collins. He is a local, active climber in the community and does a ton of climbing related paintings that are true masterpieces. http://www.jercollins.com
