In reply to: Hi Julia, mind to post a link, so I can find it too? Daniel, are you RC.com impaired? Go to her routes list, there you can see all of her DB additions. ;)

In reply to: mmm that wall looks nice, chrtur! keep training, and all will be well on our trip  ! Ugh! Just read that! Christian, whatever you agreed to: from your trip call me every hour! If you don't call for three hours, I will call the helicopter, mountain rescue, the Pope, and Michael Jackson. Just to be safe. I thought ski-mountaineers are sissies, but hey, you're a brave man.

Hey folks! Just stumbled over something which could prove useful for some of you. The Spiegel Survival Bible for Germany. A teaser from Beer, Brewskies and Liquid Bread:
In reply to: Once you've got your beer safely set in front of you, umgotteswillen don't take a sip before toasting with your table mates. Raise your glass, look your fellow drinker in the eye, clink glasses and say "Prost!" The eye contact thing is vitally important; it is said that, should you forego this social nicety, you will be punished with seven years of bad sex. A quick glance at the low German birth rate confirms that the Teutonic gods are indeed watching. - Daniel

Well, Paolo and I are off to Fontainebleau with Raffy if the weather holds. If not, we'll be doing the famous traditional 'Dirty Clothes' route on 'Laundry Mountain' again. God, I wish somebody would bolt that sucker!!

Well, weather one checks before going out :D Better to plan before and then see.... This evening I wil hit some plastics Saturday is still open but I want to go to Briancon and climb something there. Probably we will make a decision during the day/evening. Sunday is off to Valle Maira and I will follow some tradclimbs. Yesterday there were two Swedish guys skiing down the north face of Mt. Everest, they are the first who achieved that thing :D, somewhere there was also some Norwegian guy.... This country is not that important anyway  . Still there seems to be a tragedy since there was a third Swedish guy who is now missing, apparantly he fell down when rappeling a section? The information at this point is not completely clear and we still have to wait. Saluti Christian

The missing skier Tomas Olsson http://tomasolsson.test.interlan.se/ (Swedish). Some skiing things he has done: 2001 First Swede to ski the north face of Aiguille du Midi 2002 Skied down Peak Lenin (7134m) and Aconcagua (6960m) 2003 Skied down Kuksay Peak (7186m) and Muztagh Ata (7546m) 2004 Skied down Cho Oyu (8201m) The other two are Martin Letzter och Olof Sundstrom http://www.fangadagen.com/ (Swedish) and they now only have Mt. Vinson to do and then they have skied down all the seven summits. I have not found any english site....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TISAR So you're thirty-something years old now... the body re-generates more slowly, sex becomes a nuisance sometimes ("again????"), drinking has more serious effects, and you can't call your parents anymore to ask them for money because you need climbing gear. But there are positive aspects, too! Will be back later with a list. Post up in the meantime when you come up with any.

Happy birthday some time later... :D Just going down now for you I think... Well, I need to get prepared if not UA cancels the whole thing  . So we did a 300 m route at the group of Castello with own protection and old rusty pitons. My conclusion is that I need to climb more traverses since this is a weakness I have since I have done it to little  I got an old guide which I now do a photocopy of with all the routes :D http://spinphys.org/castello01.jpg http://spinphys.org/castello02.jpg http://spinphys.org/castello03.jpg Saluti Christian
