Has anyone climbed the V3 route Uniball? its supposedly V5 starting at the lowest jug and V3 starting at the undercling. It seemed harder than V3, maybe V4 ish. does anyone else think so?

The first move into the undercling was sort of tricky and the grade might be a little off but I don't think it's more than a V4 through the whole problem. My send was in relatively cool weather though and we all know how HP gets in the summer so that might be a factor too.

a couple years ago, in the Triple Crown comp booklets/topos, Uniball was going at V4 starting from the hold below the undercling.

How tall are you? Its slightly easier for taller people. I'm about 5.8 or 9 and it requires a lot of body tension for me to engage that undercling. But if you have the core the grade is about right hard 3ish soft 4ish If your shorter the move is harder to get to the undercling but once you get your right foot on the start hold and stand up on the undercling it gets a lot better. Foot work is the key on that problem. Also when you get further out the problem us a toe hook on the undercling helps keep you in.

Unibal has been downgraded over the years as have most of the routes at HP... I know the topo says it is a 3 but it is definetly a 4.

The problem with HP is all the locals have every route so perfectly wired that they get downgraded from what they truely are.

If you have a Triple Crown Guide, use it... it's much more accurate than the Topo in my personal opinion.
