Responding to the Bush administration's call to know "who is in our country and why they are here," he proposed using VeriChip RFID implants to register workers at the border, and then verify their identities in the workplace. He added, "We have talked to many people in Washington about using it...."

...uhhh...wouldn't it be easier to give them amnesty and a drivers liscense? I know it works becuase when I get a speeding ticket in upstate NY, I get the bill sent to me in MD and if I don't pay it my tags get suspended. See....they must know how to find me and where I am.

I know the solution to this whole dilemma. We should just keep fucking up our country until it is no longer attractive for illegals to come over. Problem solved.

First pets, then people. It's all about doing it incrementally so that society as a whole feels comfy with the idea.
This is basically the type of technology that will be used for future commerce as well. Fits neatly into the eschatological scenario I continue to bring up.
