so I see that we are "merged" with Dropzone. and I am cruising the photos of the skydivers and I come across a whole section of "Naked jumping shots" Are jumpers just less conservative, or bolder than rockclimbers, or perhaps i will answer my own question here. we the climbing community have more young members than the skydiving community? as I understand it the two pages are now under the same management. So i guess I am just throwing this out there for discussion

YOU mean you did not know that climberchicks are all bigtime prudes? Betcha some of em even sent 'corrective' messages to those sky-gals, telling them how much harm they are doing to the Women's cause. ROTFLMAO!

In reply to: Ever heard of the stone nudes calender? you have missed the point. the question is "if dropzone.com and rockclimbing.com have the same management. why the double standard. why does one have a dedicated section for "naked shots" (dropzone) while rockclimbing allows no nudity at all. it would seem that either the management would tighten down on dropzone or loosen up on rockclimbing.

Because a drop is over fairly quickly, while rockclimbing naked invites the possiblity of a terrible sunburn. Its just not responsible.

And there's all the gear hanging off the harness, it might snag or otherwise interfere with other 'gear' without proper restraint. Then the rope hanging down between your legs, if that gets tangled up with said 'gear' the result of a fall could change a lot. On the other hand, I can't think of any reason (other than sunburn, wear sunblock!) that women shouldn't climb naked! It's not as bad as some make it out to be. If you think about it, all us well-endowed males have our own built in PAS (Personal Anchor System). Why give $25 to Metolius when you can just drop your trousers? Clove hitch that bad boy to the anchor and save your rope for the next pitch!

I didnt miss the point, you just cant ask a coherent question. In your first post you wanted to know if there were different standards for nudity in the two sports. I offered up and example to show there clearly isnt. Maybe in your mind you were asking if a double standard exists between rockclimbing.com and dropzone.com. Rc.com has a no (blatant) nudity policy, but there are a number of shots that show unclothed people with the business covered. I suspect that the rockclimbing.com policies will become more lax like the dropzone ones after the "renovation". The double standard that exists now is only in place because rc.com's policy was set before the merger.

Yea, I definitley see some advantages to climbing naked, such as, for guys, that optional fifth point of contact. Just start thinking about Kiera Knightly and *BOING*; direct aid off your boner! Just make sure a image of Ernest Borgnine scarfing chili in a speedo doesn't sneak in there, you'll whip for sure!

I just checked it out, I think there are fewer under 18 members over there. Some are just naked people skydiving, wieners and boobs flapping in the wind, looks crazy but isn't pornographic. Then there are a ton of posed shots, a hot model, standing naked next to a plane. I'm usually the last one to say we should have rules, but if the youngsters on this website need to look up pics to jerk off, they should at least have to go to a different website. We can't have one stop shopping.

In reply to: Because a drop is over fairly quickly, while rockclimbing naked invites the possiblity of a terrible sunburn. Its just not responsible. I take it you don't jump at all....there's the famous "Bubbles" jump. She did a CRW jump naked. Pretty much everyone was following her. Jump was over 7 minutes easily (longer than some sport routes take).

There were way too many pics of naked dudes on dropzone's nude page. I don't want to see a bunch of naked dudes on this site. That being said, TITS!!

In fact, based on the current rules, I believe the naked Trip Report I posted here would not be allowed if I tried to post it today. I believe it is only still hosted here today because A- it was created pre-merger, and B- with over 30,000 views, it was one of the most popular TRs ever. GO

In case you didn't know, TOS states No Porn. If you're unclear about this, post up some nude pics.
