Seems like every time we have a gathering, at least one of us has a verbal moment of supreme clarity or total stupidity. Usually, total stupidity. Some of those moments, you just had to be here. Regardless, here's a page for us to collect those quotes for posterity... or more likely just so we can make fun of each other.

Here are a few moments I thought were memorable:

Taz & Raf, regarding Paolo's choice of boulders in VDM:
"Is it in the shade? I think it's in the shade! Can we get one in the shade? It's definitely not in the sun, isn't it?"

Steve-o, after taking his 25 metre whipper on La Fedele:
"And then it was just air passing by super-fast!"

Julia At Ettringen regarding Taz's fear of leading ice for the first time:
"It's really not hard, you just go up... I have 2 screws I can loan you."

Steve To Raf at Pfaltz, after he snuck off to bed-
"I am going to beat you with your own shoe!"

Sorry, heiko. We still have a few more to get rid of.

Booger, FYI, several of the dancers think you're cute. Trixi can't stop talking about how she'd, "love to wrap her arms around that booger." Hmmm... doesn't sound quite right. :)

You need some photo threads of your climbing gatherings! Sounds like you are all having a lot of fun. Keep it up.

More quotes, this time from Val di Mello, October 15:

Sarah: "Depending on the erection, it's either prickly or soft."
Said while running her hand over Heiko's (admittely very short) haircut. What she meant to say of course was "depending on the direction", but it never came out that way. And Heiko also never had an erection.

Paolo: "It's the saddest thing to see a female donkey on the other side of the fence, screaming 'I wanna dump you, I wanna dump you'".
At the campsite they have donkeys, and one time they were separated and developed very strong - uh - feelings, so they were neighing all the time. What he meant to say of course was "I wanna hump you"

Paolo: "I feel myself full of really useless meat."
He was referring to the incredibly long-lasting digestion process we all experienced after having a five-course dinner on saturday night with LOTS of meat...

Filippo: "crack climbing is for girls, not for kids."
He wasn't there, but I reported to him that Sarah had finally properly redpointed a certain crack route (on gear) that neither him nor me were able to redpoint so far, and that the girls generally seem to do way better on it than us "kids" ;)

Alas, despite Alvin singing Brittany Spears all last weekend, and many many other hilarious moments at the Fonti gathering... only one stands out as a quote:

Rachel runs up on a nearby boulder and says to us: "Oh hey guys, I've been bouldering with my new friend", turns to the guy, "What's your name?" (Guy mumbles "Michael"), Rachel turns to us and very proudly repeats, "Michael"!

The whole group laughed for about 20 minutes straight.
