2007 Rock Jam? Just wondering. If anyone HAS COMPETED in this thing could lay some beta on the boulder ratings there. For example.......at E-Rocker Zanzibar V2 problem is pretty damn tough. On Modump.com I saw pics of some V4-V5 stuff that looked really doable for me that looked way easier that the regional V2 stuff in Central Texas. Is this just a local thing for us? We grading problems way to harshly? I have been to Hueco Tanks before back in 1998, but was by myself and no guide book, but I do think I have an idea of what I can and can't climb there. Lastly, does anybody know, remember, whatever which problems they chose for the comp last year in the Beginner or Intermediate cats? I've never been in a comp before and I'm thinking of entering the beginners so I can climb with my 13 yr. old son in his first comp. He's only been climbing 6 months but can dyno on boulder problems like an experienced climber of several years. Thanks. Rob

In reply to: hueco is where the V scale was born. so there ya go. the grades are benchmark there. That's what I was going to say. Hueco is pretty amazing. Concentrate on having fun and you won't go wrong.

Been there shortly for a time. It was everything ya here about. I was just trying to figure out the comparison in rating between there and Central Texas where it seems like everything is rated 2x UNDER what it should be compared to everywhere else I've climbed over the last 9 years. It seems like a V2-V4 at E-Rock is like a V4-V8 anywhere else...crazy.
