Me: How 'bout I give you a five knuckle sandwich biatch.
Guy: hahaha I was just jok.....*smack*
Me: you b---- ain't got nothin' on me, boulderer4Lyfe

:)

Only one knuckle sandwich? Why not all-you-can-eat?

I think I just peed my pants...

Okay, since this post will be burried on page 4, it doesn't really matter what I say. Let me just state that I read this thread from the beginning and I absolutely loved the morph from douchy climbing guy to dinosaur comics.

My original comment upon reading the title of the thread was:

"Real Men of Genius!"

And to the poster that wanted to hear those commercials, I believe someone put a link to them in Community.

organic, i vaguely recall your light heart and positive yelps at the end of one of those mixed climbs, my humming ben harper all day and you needing to be shaken a bit to hurry to catch a plane? as i make haste from s.c., trip me and we can go climb. many have felt as you describe and it needn't be that way.

the dinosaurs were funny, but the guide book disclaimer about crankyold climbers was even funnier.

Yeah I am just being grumpy it probably is not as bad as I make it out to be. That was one of the best times I have had climbing in NC. I think the problem is that the community is so large that it is hard to be integrated into it. Is that you NJ?

Not to feed this any further, but I am the guy you are now calling a jackass. First, you don't know me so back off. Second, you can't take a joke.

Let me clarify a few things. I didn't have to be put on belay to get to the anchors. I had just finished climbing the route and was still tied in. Made little sense to untie to traverse to the anchors to then set up the rappel. Not sure how you prefer to climb, but that way works for me. It didn't take forever. It was maybe 5 minutes from me topping out to starting the rappel. As for our speed. We unpacked, racked up, and climbed our route well before your second even got to the top of yours. We climbed a 5.10a as a warm-up, you climbed a 5.6. Not that grade really matters, but your post made out like I was some kind of terrified newbie.

Sorry you didn't get the joke. I smiled and said I was kidding. Maybe you missed that part. Also, I didn't stalk off down the trail after your told me about the camalot. I asked how far it fell, said that sucked. I believe when I left I said have a good day. You left those parts out of your rant to make your side of the story more appealing. Not sure if that's because you forgot those parts or if somehow anonymously calling someone a jackass on an Internet message board is self-validating for you. I'd like to believe you just forgot because you were offended, and for that I apologize. It was a joke.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, you can extend the same courtesy to me.

The End

No no no.

You forget the dude was hanging out waiting for these idiots to finish their tiny traverse; thus at 200/hr for each climber.... They waited 15 mins...

100 bucks for the two , minus the five dollars for the rappel, they owe money...

Man, attitudes like Puerto's have NO PLACE at the crag as much as the original offenders. Furthermore as a longtime student of the arts, your instructor or Sensi would be disgusted in your suggestion to use the arts as a means of installing fear towrds those whom have NOT assaulted you physically first. Shame on YOU.

Ah , much respect for your reply, thank you, *Bows* I've only had to use violence once in the past 15 years when I was "sucker" punched walking out of a pub. The "knowledge" sure came in handy then as I was able to fend off my assailant, kicking him around the parking lot until he lost interest in his original aggression. *bows again*

I was also taught the same things by the Gracie family in Brazil where I grew up. Martial arts are for self-defense only.

Isn't there a video floating around of Rickson slapping another guy on the beach to goad him into a fight, where Rickson of course submits him?

Edit: here it is.

As something seems to have been lost in the message, I will restate my true purpose:
We, as representatives of the climbing community need to be aware of the impact we have on others, members and non-members alike, and that our individual actions influence how people view us as a group. Novice climbers should be awed by the ability of superior climbers, inspired to reach such a level of skill, and encouraged by those they idolize. Veteran climbers should facilitate outings with newcomers, patiently introducing them to the nuances of our sport and setting the example for their behavior as ambassadors of rock climbing. Then there are those of us who are (for lack of a better word) intermediates; Bringing in the new, and still aspiring to be better climbers. Teaching the basics of safety, and it's apparent absence from our sport. Climbers should be the most tight-knit group of outdoorsmen at any venue, having already entrusted their lives to the hands and eyes of their belayer. We have pulled ourselves above fear and pain, and it is only fitting that we should recognize and take pride in the amazing journey that other climbers have before them. Be kind to your nOObs; They will become your peers sooner than you think.
No more fisticuffs... Let's hug it out, bitches.

As far as I know, there isn't a way to know unless they claim it or context gives it away.

Yeah, this is one of the best threads I've read on this site. An angry rant, a bunch of good stories (and some scary ones), a couple of rebuttals, a turd war, and a dinosaur cartoon? C'mon! It's been said (by boredwolf), but I'll say it again. Hug it out, b----, just hug it out.
