Truthfully if you are really motivated to get it done, a 4 year degree can be done in less time.

yeah, you do it in the summer or you take more classes during the semester or both.

I can't do that. I have to, HAVE TO, work in the summer, and even taking 4 classes a semester gets me stressed out and depressed.

I think I'm going to let Bec field this one for the most part.

Ummm, I think I've given Brent enough lectures of how one dedicates themselves to their studies. It took me a while to really learn how to study, and in engineering its bloody hard to do it on your own. But I've already told Brent all about that.

In the end I found two things that really helped me were to read the text book and underline or take jot notes from it. And to take my evenings and Sundays and go to the school and just spend the day there working with my classmates.

But both take time and concentration, neither which Brent seems to think he has.

It'll be something like "Estimating groundwater recharge in upland mesquite rangeland, using soil chloride as an indicator".... I'm also looking at the effects of clearing vegetation on possibly increasing soil moisture in these rangeland areas.
:P ....hey.... you asked.

Um, I didn't ask.

So you are thinking that clearing vegetation would increase soil moisture? That seems counterintuitive.
Not at all. Vegetation uses soil moisture and in semi-arid and arid environments will use ALL precipitation, especially in summer. Winter precipitation events could provide small amounts of groundwater recharge. If you clear the vegetation, lower transpiration... although increased evaporation. Evaporation is low in winter, so if your rainfall in your "desert" or semi-arid shrubland is winter dominated, clearing the vegetation will increase your soil moisture and ultimately feed your groundwater levels.

....this time you asked!

probably why it's a cool thing to research, though.

Every thesis sounds cool when it's snazzed up with fancy semantics. Basically, he could have written: "Does pulling up weeds make it wetter? I think so..."

(kidding guys!! kudos on the studies!)

Thank you... that was fcuking funny as hell!!!

...but yeah, you're right.... depends on your audience! Pulling out desert weeds in winter makes the dirt wetter!

Thankyou for my new thesis title!

That's exactly right.

Well I guess there is a lot of range in the removal of vegetation, and I'd bet it would largely depend on the soil type and the vegetation type.

So many variables, so little time. :?

You might be a Brent_e if you would treat the climbing flu with neocitrin, instead of climbing.

Hey Mr. Chossmonkey!!!!!!!!!!

Can you look in the Cochise section of your book and see if there is a description for a couple routes called White Line and White Line Direct? It might not be these exact names.

Thanks,
