OK, so technically it's Humpday, but it's my favorite humday of the year because it preceeds a 4 day weekend for me. So while I have my usul Wednesday dread, there is also that beautiful silver lining . I hope you all have a couple extra days coming too. Coffee's on. Firing up the espresso machine to make myself a mocha. Morning all

Winter's just started here in Scotland. There's snow in the mountains, but it's very loose and there's no real ice yet. No more outdoor rock climbing for me, but I'm itching to give some mixed routes a try.

I am conflicted. I got booted from the Suzuki Burgman scooter forums for applying a bit of rc.com community flame sensibility to a postulant who back handedly referred to me, and several other posters, as idiots. perhaps it was my mentioning the lightweigthed nature of the forums there... I feel alternately annoyed, and proud. the coffee from the caf was bitter today. Chad, Shane and I are going to have a wallie session friday, if you are avaialable and interested.

Morning *yawn* I'll have a cup of that black coffee please. [insert]overly tired and wishing I didn't have to work smiley[/insert] So last night I do a quick fix on the sole of my old plastic boots and sent them out to canmore with one of my partners so a friend in from Van can use them (his 'ice' boot are way flexy).... then it hits me! They are out climbing while I have to WORK! AAHHH! Then the weather report get to me that it'll be -23°C on the weekend when I"ll be climbing.... so not fair! Oh, and keep that coffee coming, Thanks. [insert]old cool smiley[/insert]

Yes it's warmer back east, but JR they don't have all the ice out there that we have here.

Moonin all. Alas, It is nearing 11 and I am reallllly starting to dread the upcoming drive that I'll have tonight. I still am confused as to why the wife insists on driving instead of flying... Yippie 12 hour drive for me!!! I'm holding off on the coffee as of now. I want it to be more effective for when it counts.

Ahh yes, the Holiday Hop.... I never realized how good my parents had it growing up. We had the biggest house in the family, neither of my aunts ever had families to deal with, so both sets of grandparents came to our house every Thanksgiving and Christmas. No such luck for me. Every year... Who do we spend what day and how much time with. Sucks Have a safe drive though, Jay. Look on thr bright side, with traffic, security, flight delays and all the rest, you'll probably make beter time driving

Every year... Who do we spend what day and how much time with. Sucks Have a safe drive though, Jay. I'm in a unique situation, being a military spouse, in that realistically we aren't near either of our families. And not by choice, but by directive. My entire family is situated out west, with Reno being the central most point to everyone. Holidays were without major travel, because we would rotate through one of the dozen or so houses throughout the year. Even if we did travel it wasn't more than 3 hours. We ALL (450 or so) were located within a reasonable distance. Sure there are exceptions, but on the whole we all were near. While I'm not the furthest, that is reserved for my cousin who lives in Italy, it is a real pain seeing family. We are seperated from the rest of them, my wife's family in Ohio and mine out west. Hell, I remember the drive from San Diego to Reno wasn't as bad as the one I'm going to undertake this evening. (8 hours compaired to 12 hours). Still it isn't as bad as traveling from Japan. THAT was painful in time and $$. I'd rather fly. Better yet, I'd rather be out west again where it wasn't such a pain to get somewhere...

Yeah, see there's this thing about me being unable to sleep in a moving car... Not any sort of phobia, I just don't sleep. So, being that we have a baby I'll be driving so that in the morning the wife isn't exhausted and can deal with the kid while I nap.

I always find I'm most sleepy in the morning once I start my journey.... when I continue into the night like I did on my 26 hour drive to VA from TX over July 4th weekend, I'm not tired at all. Infact I drive better late at night than most times of the day. Weird.... when I'm sitting at home I get sleepy so early. Be safe everyone! Have a great Thanksgiving.
