So, I am curious as to how many of you do any urban bouldering that are not close to any crags? This past weekend me and my roommate climbed a large retaining wall outside a local Home Depot. We set a number of routes and had lots of fun. We were actually able to set some challenging lines. The fun ended though when a cop ran us off. We got greedy and stayed out after dark (it was lit up by street lights) Anybody else have fun doing things like this?

I had some thoughts about "urban bouldering/climbing/ over the weekend. Not sure on the legal ramification of it. But I have taken a notice to a number for overpasses, old bridges, that look safe enough for it.

We had about 20 established problems at James Madison University in VA. From V6ish to V0. I tried to convince my buddy to post a guide book on line but he never did.

In reply to: We had about 20 established problems at James Madison University in VA. From V6ish to V0. I tried to convince my buddy to post a guide book on line but he never did. Nice! Now that I Think about it I Think I saw a photo in the Climbing Photo Issue from JMU. So far we have set two solid routes. Likely around the V1 range. The highest part of the wall is about 20ft. The lines we set were around 10-15.

as a climbing junkie stuck in flat flat flat chicago, i've been forced to resort to finding my sends among the city's many rail underpasses. i've set some fun lines and found sufficiant chalange to stave off the shakes. the problem for me has been chicago's hyper vigalant police dep. who routenly mistake me for a vandal, search me, and act baffled when i try to explain myself. my advice it to stay the hell out of chicago at all costs.

We have a few retaining walls at Penn State Campus that we climb a lot during the summer. It's a great lunch time break. I also have seen a few walls cut out from new highway construction that I want to climb. I am slightly worried about getting stoped by the cops, but fudge it, I'll go to jail for a good climb!
