What a sweet trip! Beautiful cloudless night, cool air, great folks, and classic climbs. The folks: rrradam i.karen jorgle mauriceb his woman and myself. The climbs: Touch and Go (5.9): The one climb I have wanted to do since I started climbing. A real treat to do at night. Ben Dover (5.10c): A cool 4 bolt one-move wonder climb. Maurice's first 10c, way to go! Fun Stuff (5.8 ): The name pretty much says it all. Also done with a 10a start variation. Raging Intensity (5.9): Pretty intense, alright. I was sketched out, and I was on top rope. Big Moe (5.11b): Our group thought this one should be called Big MOFO. Long and sustained, and really really cool. Adam told us about a guy who solos it regularly. So that was the trip! I crawled into bed at 5:00am, dead tired and with raw fingertips, looking forwards to the next midnight trip out to J-Tree. ~Matt [ This Message was edited by: pranaguy on 2002-09-13 14:00 ]

Had a great time, as J-Tree at night is very spiritual, almost surreal. many shooting stars amongst the entire Milky Way. Everyone was way cool, and I look forward to climbing with them again much. Matt... You are a mutant !!! Having only been climbing for a year, I am very impressed with your abilities. I'll look for you in "Hot Flashes" soon. Learn to Trad lead brutha, as I'll need a rope gun this winter at J-Tree to take my "old ass" up some stout climbs. Art... You missed a good one !!! Eat your heart out.

Big Moe was great (kicked my ass), I thought the drop knee reach move was good fun. This was my first time night climbing, it was a blast. I'm ready for the next time we go. Thanks Adam. Art, the weather was perfect!!

Oh yea... Jorge, Be sure to use, and pass around those 10 Splitter Gear Cams I gave you, so I can use your input, and that of others on the RC.com Splitter Gear 2Cam/4Cam Review. Make sure if you see Jeff (sickofla), that you let him take them for a while, after your Yosemite Trip, as he wanted to check them out. I'll be back in SoCal in mid November to collect them. So scratch, abuse, torture, etc... them as best you can.

All - Thanks for the encouraging words. Bummed I missed out on Touch and Go but next time. As a matter of fact, next time (assuming it is day light) I think I'm going to lead Ben Dover. Funny happening. Kim and I camped last night at HiddenValley. We had our breakfast snack in a small cooler (the type you would take your lunch to work with). The cooler was sitting behind the trunk in the shade while we were packing up and !poof!- cooler gone. No one around, no animals in sight. Cooler gone along with two PB&J, twizzlers, and NutriGrain bars. Would someone please explain to me who would steal this? How many tents, sleeping pads, packs, stoves, etc are left at Hidden Valley all day without removal? And don't tell me it was an animal. The cooler was gone. I'll assume someone needed it more than we did. maurice

COYOTES!!!! I have seen them steal full grocery bags and more. They get very hungry during the summer because a lot of them are used to being feed by the stupid people who want to get good photo ops!! Well, as always it was a beautiful night!!! I am glad Art wasn't there to pick on me though!! But watch out because I will have my Master/Bodyguard at Malibu!!!!Yadi!! I will have my eyes on you!!!! Hoping to make it to Joshua Tree next summer. I will look you guys up when it gets closer. With the weather we have here, maybe I should think about a winter trip there, huh? It's getting cold here!!! BRRRRRRRR Oh well - there is always snowboarding though. Have fun and CLIMB ON!!! JULES
