Living off the grid...........

Do ladies want to live off the grid, i.e. living, with an organic garden, in a cabin , dependant on nothing but, wind solar, and hydro power? Or is this too harsh of conditions

i would love an organic garden... if it came with a gardener and personal chef
a cabin sounds nice, too... but only if it was a second home

different 'ladies' want different things but i dont know any who are dying to be dependent on solar power

Well, in about a week or so, I'll be living in a hut for 2 years+ with no electricity, running water, or reliable phone service. And I'm more excited about that than scared. About the organic garden.. I hope I'll like it or I may starve. I'm sure ladies would want to live off the grid as much as boys, meaning, it depends on the individual.

I'm 16 so I try to live as sustainabily as possible while still being at home, I've an organic garden out the back with lots of different veges and quite a good wee herb garden for cooking and remedies. I find it really fufilling to grow and produce your own food, I also do some work for community gardens aswell and we help feed the poor and homeless in our community. Great fun

I've lived in many places. For example, I lived in a shipping container in East Timor for a month. I lived in my parents' cabin for a while this year. I've lived in a car. I've lived in a tent.

One of the docs I know has a multimillion dollar cabin that is powered entirely by geothermal and solar power. He also has an organic garden. If that's what you're talking about, sign me up ASAP please!

What consitutes and "organic" garden? I was hoping to plant a veggie garden in my back yard this year, does that mean I will be joining the ranks of the organic gardeners?

Living off the grid is not necessarily "harsh".

It isn't like an episode of Survivor; you HAVE power, it just comes from a local renewable source(like wind, hydro, sun...).

What's harsh is being on the grid, paying monthly electric bills to a utility conglomerate, then freezing in the dark when a storm knocks out the power line down the road.Unsure

Being YOUR OWN power company is...EMPOWERING. "Ladies" like that.Wink

Nah, too lazy and don't want to pay for extra chemicals.

And I won't be growing tomatos, don't like them. Probobly be going for potatos though, they seem easy to grow.

Would you prefer "What's up bitches?"

Tongue

Any ladies, girls, women, or other form of the word wish to live off said grid are more than welcome to swing by my hut/lean-to. Once I find it. Smile

Already have an organic garden, so I guess I'm half-way there?

I think if you have money, you can make the off-grid living very luxurious, like lhwang was saying.

I would very much like to live in a place away from the city, in a comfy "green" house that is built without toxic construction materials, powered with solar energy, surrounded by a beautiful productive orchard and garden, etc. I would also liketo have independent source of income so I could live in that house, travel whenever the fancy strikes me, and not worry about making money...

What I wouldn't like to do is live in a 300sq foot cabin with wood heat and outhouse and no internet access...

SO you want to retire. Welcome to the club.
