Anyone going to be at the Ice Park this weekend? I am not sure if my partner is going to make it. I will be there as long as this storm that is coming does not keep me stuck in New Mexico.

hey, just moved to the breckenridge area and am looking to climb some ice. I have limited ice climbing experience, i have gone 4 times, so i am still a rookie but not a total idiot. Will be belay slave, buy beer, drive long distances or do whatever. I have some equipment and am looking for an excuse to take the financial plunge and buy some tools. let me know if anybody is interested

Anyone interested in climbing around the Ouray/Silverton area after President's Day Weekend (Tues 2/20-Sat 2/24). I will be skiing in Taos on the holiday weekend and driving to Ouray either Monday night or Tuesday morning. I would like to ski/climb around the area until Sunday, 2/25. I live up in Bozeman and need the whole day Sunday to drive home. I want to TR in the park a couple of days, but if avy conditions permit i would like to get up stairway and/or the ribbon, as well as screwing around in Camp Bird/skylight perhaps. I have camped there in camp bird several years running during the icefest, so i am sure with things being quiet during this stretch, the same would be possible this time, making lodging free, but cold. Also willing to haul someone north to MT after Ouray, assuming Hyalite is still open, one could extend the tour. Thanks Peter

Thanks Peter I am flying into Billings on the 23rd and planning on climbing the 24th and 25th in the Bozeman area. I am meeting a buddy up there that I have not seen in a while and we would love to climb with somone who knows the Hyalite area. Also I have been reading montanaice.com and am having a hard time figuring out how hard it wil be to drive to the parking area. I have seen some people take snowmobiles and I don't want to have to rent one if I don't have to. We are renting a 4x4 vehicle, is that going to be enough to get us to the parking area? I know alot depends on weather.

I will be in he Vail area from Feb. 2nd for a week with my GF, who is pretty new to climbing, so I'd be happy to team up with somebody for harder stuff. I'd like to try some of the mix classics (Octopussy and such) and possible some of the new stuff, you would not have a hard time talking me into going to Alcatraz. Anyone who knows about the conditions in Vail? Where else could I take a beginner? PM me, please Thanks chris

I stopped by Vail two weeks ago and The Fang still wasn't in Designator is good and Sprital Staircase would be perfect to take your girl on. If you've got a week, take her to Lincoln Falls or maybe some stuff in Officers Gulch.

I wish that I could make it up there Scott. Do you think that you will be able to make Bozeman?

Anyone going to be up in Ouray this weekend? Anyone want to share a room Friday and Saturday night? I am planning on staying at the Ouray Chalet. With an Ice Park membership it is $55 a night.

To the folks who replied to me, enuf of this site, send me an email with your contact info to upsetterythym@yahoo.com. There was one fellow who wanted to climb on Tuesday and maybe ski on wednesday. There was another fellow who sounded solid for friday. And then a third who said he lived in GJ and was possibly interested in thursday thru saturday/sunday. Send me phone numbers as well. See ya Peter

Hey everybody coming down to Ouray that needs a place to stay. My girlfriend and I live in town just downstream from the vic and have people over all the time. We don't have an extra room but we do have a fold out couch in our living room. If anybody's looking for a place to crash for a night or two hit us up 303 809-2745. No charge but buy us some beer and we'd be stoked. cheers Chris

I'd be down to climb wednesday and on. I got a job interview tuesday at the hot springs so I wouldn't be able to get out until later. They're looking for a new cabana boy. But yeah let me know what your plans are.

I live in Fort Collins and am looking for someone to climb ice with this Friday the 16th. RMNP would be best. WI 4-5 or so depending on conditions. I'd also consider an alpine route but nothing too serious. (I've learned the hard way not to tackle big objectives with a brand new partner.) e-mail me at: neaglemark@hotmail.com

The Ames Ice Hose is in super fat this year, and I want it, bad. I’m guessing that it will still be in reasonable shape for another week and a half of so, so if anyone else wants it contact me. climbhigh8@msn.com I’m willing to lead every pitch, drive all night, what ever it takes.
