I'm going to be in denver next week mon-fri eve. I'm there for work, but I'd love to get on route while I'm out there. If anyone is climbing at all that week, message me. I do sport and trad. I'm packing as much of my rack as I can, I can't imagine going to CO and not getting on some rock. I'm borrowing a silent parter in case I cant find a belay, and I'm carless for the trip. So if anyone has good ideas on areas I can get to easily, whether it be public transit or hitchhiking, I'd appreciate the beta. And beta on anything I shold avoid due to winter weather.

Hi all, I am coming to visit Boulder for five days starting this Friday 3/16. I am a newbie gym climber (6 mos.) living in South Florida (lamest place on Earth for climbers). I would love to get my hands on some real rock while I am out there. I have all day Monday the 19th free. Any suggestions on how I could meet up with people to do some bouldering or top roping? Also, I will be relying on public transport while I am there, what are the most accessible places. Thanks, Todd P.S. - The good news is that I am moving to Boulder in August. :-)

Me and my climbing partner plan on being in Estes Park from July 10-August 10. We are flying in from the East Coast and are trying to avoid renting a car for the entire trip. We plan on climbing only in the RMNP and in Lumpy. Does anyone know of a daily shuttle and the cost of it? Even better, would anyone be willing to rent a car to us for a good deal? Are there any other options to avoid the issue of transportation. Our trip itinerary will be something as follows: A week at Lumpy cragging, followed by a week of moderate alpine routes, another week of cragging and bouldering, a final week in Chasm Cirque climbing on the Diamond. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Munky

Hey Steve and Vince and all you other Springers, I might be headed your way this Sunday to climb in RRC. Any idea where I could pick up a guide book? I seem to recall they were difficult to find. Of course, I'd love to see you all there on Sunday. Uh, and don't tell my doc, please.

Damn Cindy. I have a guidebook for RRC. I'll make sure to get my copy to Jen, so on the off chance she makes it....etc.

Cindy, Mountain Chalet has a bunch of RRC guidebooks. I might be able to meet you Sundae. I just need to talk my partner into it. ;)

Thanks Kim. I should have known you or Jer would have a guide book. You two have all the cool climbing stuff. Steve: hope you can make it on Sunday. My partner and I are both dealing with some knee problems. Any suggestions on what wall to hit with some nice routes on the easy end of the scale? Like 5.8 to 5.10a?

Vince and Steve, it was great to see you guys after so long. Thanks for coming out to climb with us. Do either of you ever venture up to Castlewood? I'm your huckleberry if you do.

Unfortunately, my emphasis on skiing over the past handful of months didn't do much for my climbing. 2) Castlewood? Dudes, dudettes....seriously. Castlewood does have some decent routes, but has the "let's break off half the decent holds on the routes and watch them crumble to dust" experience of RRC make you yearn for a similar experience with the cobbles at Castlewood? Hint -- portable holds are not your friend. Let's envision something a little more.....solid. Like gneiss, granite, limestone (OK, good limestone), sandstone that can't be drilled with a blow tube, and just about anything metamorphic. Hint -- bomber rock is your friend.

Calling all Front Range Craggers Yup, it's the first Happy Hour Cragging session of the 2007 season. We'll be at Animal World up Boulder Canyon at 5 or 6. I might wuss out and only go as far as Boulderado.... depends on how much my pt works me tomorrow. A special guest appearance will be made by the one and only KEN FROM WALLA WALLA! We'll probably hit the SS afterwards for the obligatory beer.

Ack! All this talk of sport climbing and crappy sandstone! Eldo is goin' off folks! The crowds haven't shown up yet and the weather is great. You may want a small hand broom for the early season sand on the ledges though.
