I thought this was a very useful article with some practical, specific steps to take in specific situations. It made me realize that I haven't been considering fall consequences as thoroughly as I should. Also a good reminder of downclimbing as part of the toolkit. I hope your daughter wasn't traumatized for life by the heartless checkers whupping you gave her, haha! JL

I'm sure it works coming fom you... Your name was tossed around the North Carolina climbing circles back in the day and always associated with a baddass climb... I did the Original Route up to the second ascent of Traditions... My partner took a 30'er and I was picked to top us out! Wild ride... Is Steve Longnecker still around??? Thor

Hello Thor, I don't know Steve Longnecker so I'm not sure what he's up to. Some great routes in NC especially if you like multi pitch, which I do. That's one of the main reasons I went there. arno
