Do you any guys have chairs that you sit and belay from? I thought about buying one of those tripod chairs for belaying cause their cheap and light, It is too tireing to stand belaying the whole time your neck gets tired etc etc., especially if you have your rockshoes on.

You sould get one of those chairs that pop out with a foot rest. Just anchor yourself to something and use a gri gri and "belay on." Thats the lazy comfortable way to belay. spyder

Lie down on your crashpad, use and exta coil of rope or a pilloww... No, seriously, lieing down while belaying is a goodidea, takes out all that neckstrain.

My brother and I share a fold-up camp chair that doubles as a cooler!!! Food and drink is always right under our butts, and that is a good thing. (It has a shoulder sling, of course.

Hey, Forget all the chair/pad/rope stuff. Just lie flat on the ground and look straight up...no neck angle at all.

The Crazy Creek Power Lounger is an awesome chair in general. Little on the heavy side for backpacking, but still a great choice for belaying. Nice chair to be super lazy in.

The best belay to get is from a STANDING BELAYER! Nobody has brought up this rather obvious detail yet.

"and a helmet for a pillow..." awesome!! That way if any rocks fall beside you and bounce back up, it'll protect the back of your head.

I always sit when people are toproping, half the time I put the belay device on a sling around a tree, or my tow hitch so I don't have any worries. Much easier that way.

If I ever meet any of you that belay in a chair, remind to smack you up side the head, call you lazy, and never climb with you...
