Ok, it's been 13 1/2 months since my brush with death last summer. I fell about 20 ft off a highball shattered my ankle. 2 surgeries, 2 screws, and a year of pt and now it's time. I'm headed up for the first time since them. I'm pretty nervous so I'll probably stay low but at least I'm on the rock again.

Yer lucky, I fell 20ft once - shattered both wrists and ruptured my spleen. I also have a buddy that fell 20ft and hasn't walked in over 10 years. As a result I'm much more careful and don't solo anything I am POSITIVE I won't fall on. Glad you're back at it - be careful!

Congrats on the recovery... that's a long haul! I'm just back at climbing after a 3 month recovery from a severe break inside of my knee, but I only had one surgery... 3 months was brutal on me... 13 - 1/2 is unimaginable. Welcome back! Climb safe!

I once fell twenty feet with no injury at all and a month later fell like four feet and tore an ankle ligament. 6 month recovery. lots of firgerbord work, but so sad.

Now go for it, go slowly, take your time, and enjoy each moment, no rush, but no need to go bellow your capacity either. Important is to do what you like, enjoy, man, enjoy...
